Observation Conclusion


Based on the observation data, it is known that the number of Chatime customer on Saturday is more than Sunday which there are 76 customers on Saturday and 30 customers on Sunday.

Compare to the male customers, female customers are more tend to purchase Chatime drinks and holding the drink while shopping in the mall. Besides that, the Chinese customers are more than the Malay customers which there are 63% Chinese customers and 37% Malay customers.

For the observation conclusion is that the dinner time hours (7.15 p.m -7.30 p.m) had the most customer inflow during the Saturday.While during Sunday, the most customer is on 6.15 p.m to 6.30 p.m and 7.30 to 7.45 p.m.

Analysis of Data Collected

These are the table and histograms which are representing the data collected through observation.

This table is the total number of customer went to Chatime for consumption on Saturday and the table is based on gender.


From the histogram above shows that :
From 6.15 p.m to 6.30 p.m, the number of female customer are higher than male customers which there are 10 female customers and 4 male customers.
From 6.30 p.m to 6.45 p.m, the number of female customer are higher than male customers which there are 8 female customers and only 1 male customers.
The number of female customer are higher than male customers which there are 13 females and 5 males from 7.15 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
However, the number of males are higher than the females which there are 7 males and 5 females from 7.30 p.m to 7.45 p.m.
From 8.15 p.m to 8.30 p.m, the number of female customer are lower than male customers which there are 5 female customers and 6 male customer.
The number of female customer are higher than male customers which there are 7 females and 5 males from 8.30 p.m to 8.45 p.m.
There are 37% of male customers and 63% of female customers among the total number of 76 customers.

There are equal number of  female customer and male customers from 7.15 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
However, the number of males are lower than the females which there are 2 males and 10 females from 7.30 p.m to 7.45 p.m.
Lastly,there are 23% of male customers and 77% of female customers among the total number of 30 customers.

From 6.15 p.m to 6.30 p.m, the number of Chinese customer are higher than Malay customers which there are 9 Chinese customers and 5 Malay customers.
From 6.30 p.m to 6.45 p.m, the number of Chinese customer are lower than Malay customers which there are 4 Chinese customers and 5 Malay customers.
The number of Chinese customer are higher than Malay customers which there are 11 Chinese customer and 7 Malay customers from 7.15 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
However, the number of Malay customer are lower than the Chinese customers which there are 3 Malay customers and 9 Chinese customers from 7.30 p.m to 7.45 p.m.
From 8.15 p.m to 8.30 p.m, the number of Chinese customer are higher than Malay customers which there are 11 Chinese customers and have no Malay customer.
The number of Chinese customer are higher than Malay customers which there are 10 Chinese customers and 2 Malay customers from 8.30 p.m to 8.45 p.m. 
Lastly, there are 29% of Malay customers and 71% of Chinese customers among the total number of 76 customers.

From 6.15 p.m to 6.30 p.m, the number of Chinese customer are lower than Malay customers which there are 5 Chinese customers and 1 Malay customers.
From 6.30 p.m to 6.45 p.m, the number of Chinese customer are lower than Malay customers which there are 2 Malay customers and have no Chinese customers.
The number of Chinese customer are higher than Malay customers which there are 3 Chinese customer and only 1 Malay customers from 7.15 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
However, the number of Malay customer are higher than the Chinese customers which there are 7 Malay customers and 5 Chinese customers from 7.30 p.m to 7.45 p.m.
It shows that there are 57% of Malay customers and 43% of Chinese customers among the total number of 30 customers.


 It is the overall customer flow during this 10 period of time.


From the histogram above shows that :
From 6.15 p.m to 6.30 p.m, the amount of  customer during Saturday is more than Sunday which there are 14 customers on Saturday and 12 customers on Sunday.
From 6.30 p.m to 6.45 p.m, the number of customer during Saturday is higher than Sunday which are 9 customers on Saturday and 2 customers on Sunday.
The number of customer during Sunday is lower than Saturday which there are 18 customers on Saturday and 4 customers on Sunday from 7.15 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
However, the amount of customer during Sunday is equal to the amount of customer during Saturday which there are 12 customers on Saturday and Sunday from 7.30 p.m to 7.45 p.m.
From 8.15 p.m to 8.30 p.m, the number of customer is 11 customers on Saturday.
The number of customer is 12 customers on Saturday from 8.30 p.m to 8.45 p.m. 
It shows that there are 72% of  customers on Saturday and 28% of customers on Sunday among the total number of 106 customers.

Research Methodology

In my research, I had use non-probability sampling on quota basis as a research technique. 

Population : all the Chatime outlet in Malaysia

Sampling frame : the Chatime outlets in Setapak area

Sampling unit : Chatime outlet in the shopping malls (Primary)

                       : Weekend customers (Secondary)

                       : Dinner time hours from 6 p.m to 9.p.m (Tertiary)

Observation in Chatime

This is one of the Chatime outlet in KL Festival City, nearby TAR University College and Genting Klang. It takes around 6 minutes to reach the Festival Mall by TARUC bus. The design of Chatime is very intimate that they have provide a bench for the customers to sit while waiting the drinks. But sometimes are not very effective when too many customers buying Chatime.
This is the front counter of Chatime. There is a menu board at the counter, which has highlighted the recommended drinks.
This is the best seller drinks in Chatime.
This is the new series drinks to celebrate Chatime Malaysia has reach 100 outlets Nationwide. The new series drinks featuring Honeydew Milk Tea, Honeydew SmooTea, Pear Juice and Pear Fruit Green Tea.

I went to Chatime, KL Festival City to do the observation by using handphone to record the research process through video. By record 10 different period to find out the which period have the most number of customers visited the Chatime. I done the observation during dinner time hours(6 p.m - 9 p.m) on weekend(Saturday and Sunday). 
          




Business Research on Chatime

I'm doing a business research on Chatime and I have chosen Chatime in KL Festival City for the research. My research question is "How many customers visited Chatime in different periods?". I would like to share the information about Chatime from the official website of Chatime.
